The USDA 1890 National Scholars Program is a prestigious scholarship designed to support outstanding students attending one of the 19 historically black land-grant universities, known as the 1890 Institutions. This program offers a fully funded education, covering not only tuition but also room and board, books, and other essential expenses. Beyond financial support, scholars gain invaluable work experience through paid internships with the USDA, providing hands-on experience, professional networking, and a direct pathway to a career in agriculture or related fields.

This scholarship is a golden opportunity for students passionate about agriculture, food sciences, and natural resources, but it also extends to those pursuing careers in medicine, engineering, and other STEM fields. The agricultural sector increasingly relies on advanced technology, biomedical research, and engineering innovations to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Whether it's developing sustainable farming techniques, enhancing food safety through biomedical advancements, or designing cutting-edge agricultural equipment, there’s a critical need for professionals with diverse expertise.

Applying for the USDA 1890 National Scholars Program is more than just seeking financial aid: it's an opportunity to be part of a legacy that champions diversity, innovation, and leadership in agriculture.
